Welcome to Tarasand! This two-story luxury villa sits on the waterfront in Cayman Kai, a short distance from the Rum Point Club along the north coast. 


Tarasand is a great family villa offering barefoot swimming off the shores of the home's palm-shaded beach.


Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, Tarasand is extremely private. Chances are high that you will not see a soul on the beach your entire stay.


Lounge in the hammock on the white sandy beach, or enjoy sunsets from the home's multiple decks. Luxurious interiors and a great open concept design compliment the excellent Caribbean views.

Plenty of oceanfront windows and sliding doors fill the living area, kitchen, and bar with sunlight and panoramic views of the azure waters off of Cayman Kai. The fully equipped, modern kitchen offers all the standard appliances, dishware, cookware, and cutlery.     


Sunsets are especially enjoyable from the decks at Tarasand. Facing southwest, the setting sun provides a wonderful warm end to an active day of snorkeling, SCUBA diving or just relaxing in Grand Cayman. The white sand beach not only offers barefoot swimming but has lounge chairs, a palm-shaded hammock and a Propane grill for cooking by the sea.

Fantastic!

Tarasand was fantastic. The pictures do not do it justice. The house, beach and Rum Point in general were awesome. Only complaint, which is no one\'s fault, would be the jellyfish that were hanging out in the water just off of the beach. There were actually more starfish off of our beach than there were at Starfish Point. The host did a fantastic job with recommendations including private boat tours and personal chefs which we used several nights. This is a fabulous place to stay!

Our family loved Tarasand! Upon arrival we were late to Silver Thatch and the employees were just leaving. They remained open for us. We were able to grab our snorkel gear and cooler without another trip. Much appreciated! Tarasand is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed! Plenty of room for all 6 of us! Very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Chloe stopped by on our second day to ask if we had any questions. She was so helpful. She returned a few days later to give us a bike pump for our rental bikes. We would recommend renting kayaks and bikes. So much fun! Having Hurleys deliver groceries upon our arrival was such a timesaver. There were multiple starfish in the water off our beach. There are a few jellyfish, you need to watch for them. We loved starfish point for enjoying the water and playing frisbee. Bio bay was amazing at night! We went to Kaibo daily to either enjoy a meal or get coffee. Very impressed! We recommend their bbq night, dinner on the beach and Upstairs. Our favorite restaurants: All at Kaibo, Tukkas and Tilly’s. Our first night was a pizza delivery from the Italian Kitchen. Very good and convenient. Stingray city is VERY cool and best snorkeling is at Macabuca. Seven mile beach is gorgeous. This was our first visit to Grand Cayman and we loved it! We highly recommend Tarasand!

We Loved every minute of our stay at Villa Tarasand! The home is beautifully decorated and is fully equipped to meet our every need. The location is absolutely perfect and the sunsets were amazing!! We had two Chef's dinners in the home through Prime Group - we can\'t say enough good things about them and the food they prepared and served they were Fantastic. Relaxing Family Getaway!

This was the perfect secluded beach front property for a relaxing family getaway, very clean. More than enough room for our family of seven. Fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. Laundry facilities were a lifesaver. Beach towels were provided. Lazy days on the beach, soft sand, calm waters. Lots of beautiful starfish, small cool lizards and tiny seashells. We rented kayaks and seaview boards, highly recommend! Jellyfish in the area, watch your step! Grocery store tip - go to one of the Fosters locations, versus Chisholm\'s (Chisholm\'s is expensive!).

Beautiful house and beach

We had a great time with our family there celebrating our 5oth anniversary. the house was beautiful and beds comfortable. Every day there were up to 17 starfish at our beach, and in the morning a couple of small stingrays. There were also a lot of jellyfish which kept us out of the water, and not any fish there to snorkel and see. We were disappointed in that. It is a long drive into town to where a good grocery store or tourist attractions are. But we had privacy and a large beautiful house and beach to enjoy. We loved it!

The house exceeded our expectations upon arrival. It was very clean and had everything that you need for a wonderful family vacation. I appreciate the staff and their constant communication for all Covid related travel and check-in. When you check in, they provide you with a lot of good information along some complementary rentals such as coolers and snorkel gear. They really go out of their way. The beach was very clean and private. I loved all of the furniture and hammock to enjoy the beautiful cayman weather. Whenever we had an issue (couldn’t find the trash bins), they were quick to respond and got us situated. When we come back to the island, I will without a doubt use Grand Cayman villas again.

Tops Our List of Rentals We Have Chosen Over The Years

This location tops our list of several rentals we have chosen over the years. We traveled with our sr. adult parents and our grown son / daughter-in-law for a relaxing week away from reality. This property was perfect for everyone. The home was beautiful and well kept. The on-line description was exactly on-point. The view from every window was gorgeous and the beach was absolutely perfect. We spent hours on our private beach finding star fish, rays, and small shells. The hammock, lounge chairs and tables on the beach provided everything we needed to just relax, cook out on the grill and enjoy each other. The location is about 45 minutes from the bustle of George Town, but super close to all of the major activities we wanted to enjoy. Rum Point is just a couple of minutes away and we enjoyed many excursions like excellent snorkeling, jet skis, sting ray city, the bioluminecent kayak tour and other great fun, all from there. We picked a day or two to go into George Town to enjoy shopping and the turtle center. The drive was easy, but we really enjoyed just being at the house and enjoying the private beach. We could not give a better rating for Tarasand and we look forward to returning soon.

The Cay in front is filled with all kinds of fish, and you can kayak right around the point into bioluminescent bay. When we had an issue with one of the heat pumps, it was fixed the same day on Sunday! The property feels very private, has plenty of shade, great sandy water access, and a crystal clear shallow bay filled with all types of fish. The ideal place to relax

The improvements we would like to see is more paper products, pen n paper, more wash clothes, outdoor grill needs repair or replacement, warning about the jellyfish that are sometimes in this bay!!! Thanks for sharing your home with pour two families. Four adults and four children, and plenty of room. We went to Rum Point, Kaibo and Starfish Point plenty of times. Kayaking and paddleboarding was excellent as there were no waves or currents. Safe, quiet location. Spacious rooms. No clutter. Fantastic kitchen. No complaints at all. We were a group of two small families with three children. Tarasand provided the perfect backdrop for our vacation. Pristine interior and well kept landscaping and beach. Grand Cayman Villas was instrumental in helping us find the right property. We did not have reason to contact the local manager as there were no maintenance issues. Silver Thatch staff were wonderful and helpful with recommendations. Better snorkeling up at Rum Point, but that was fine with the bare foot swimming. We would love to return one day!

The Perfect Get Away

Tarasand was exactly as pictured in the advertisements, spacious, immaculately clean and with a large pivate beach. It was stocked with all the the equipment needed to cook major meals. Booking was very simple, questions we had before signing were rapidly answered. Our property manager, Chloe, was friendly and helpful. Georgetown and golfing were a 45 minute drive, the nearest large grocery store was was 30 minutes away, but we knew this ahead. The two local restaurants we tried were way over priced for limited food quality, but we had many fabulous meals cooked at Tarasand. The secluded beach was perfect, in that there was lovely shade under a well trimmed tree and lots of sun for the rest of us. We spent many hours in and out of the water. Plenty of outdoor seating was available and a hammock. What a dream vacation.

Our group of 8 adults absolutely loved our home for 1 week at the north end of Grand Cayman. We were able to see most of the island but were very content hanging around our home, as we had it all. The home had plenty of room and we never felt crowded. We loved that we could always find shade on our beach. We were within walking distance of both Rum Point and Kaibo. What a great place to have a relaxing vacation. The lushness of the landscaping exceeded our expectations. To wake up to the view everyday was more than amazing.

This was our second time at Tarasand...that\'s gotta tell you something right there! The house is fantastic & exactly as described, & the fact that there are 2 master bedrooms is a huge plus! I don\'t think you could find a better private beach...we even had our Silver Thatch boat captain (George) pick us up for our snorkel tour right on the beach! We would highly recommend Tarasand! There were 7 of us this year & last year & there\'s plenty of room to spread out & do your own thing. A nice walk to Kaibo, Starfish Point or to Rum Point, and the \"Bio Bay\" is right across the street. We love this place & can\'t wait to go back!

Great Home for Families with Kids

We loved Tarasand. This is a great property for folks with kids. It is right on the beach and the floor to ceiling windows make it easy to watch them as they play. The water is warm and calm. There are good number of activities but Caman Kai is not too busy and has a nice, relaxed community feel. The restaurants are convenient and good. We highly recommend it.

Tropical Paradise

We fell in love with the description and pictures so we were worried that Tarasand could not possibly be so good. It was better. A beautiful setting, private beach, and gorgeous villa made the perfect place to relax after our days swimming and exploring Grand Cayman. The open floor plan of the villa was perfect for our family of five and the enclosing trees and shrubbery gave us the illusion of our own private tropical island beach. We saw only a handful of people walking the beach the whole time we were there. We spent eight nights at Tarasand and enjoyed swimming just a few steps out our back door, outings to swim with the dolphins, kayak Bioluminescent Bay at night...just the other side of the finger of land where Tarasand sits, a boat ride from nearby Rum Point to visit Stingray City, and snorkeling at Rum Point, Barefoot Beach and Queen\'s Monument. We relaxed in the mornings by walking the beaches from the villa to Starfish Point, Bioluminescent Bay and around Rum Point. The Kaibo Yacht Club and Rum Point beach restaurants were handy. We loved the Lionfish tacos at Eagle Ray\'s on the east end, the fabulous Lobster Pot restaurant in Georgetown, and we had a good meal and great setting at Over the Edge on the north coast. It was the most restful and rewarding vacation for our family in the most wonderful setting. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Great place the wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Beach is great, nice swimming for kids, snorkeling for beginners is ok around the point with lots of little fish for the kids to see in really shallow water, location is great nice and quiet and the bio luminescent bay was really cool to do as well. Only complaint was the weather wasn\'t the greatest for the final week but no one can control that. Highly recommend the coffee down at Cayman Kai

Stay Tarasands Villa!!!!! It Is Amazing!!!!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this Villa for 7 days/6 nights during the Memorial Day weekend 2016 timeframe, it is AWESOME!!!!! The Villa is very spacious (4-bedrooms) and definitely has enough room to hold probably as many 8 people comfortably but we decided to stay there anyway even though it was just the two of us because we wanted to have our own large private villa in a good location with our own private beach. The Tarasands Villa definitely exceeded our expectations in every way, the location is perfect, it is very central to all the fun bars and restaurants in the North End/Rum Point area, and you even have your own private beach. We used the grocery delivery service recommended by GCVC and our fridge was fully stocked before we arrived. We even rented a boat (SeaRay 210) for half of our stay and the property manager let us use one of the nearby docks on Finger Cay Road for 3 days during our stay, it was very convenient. The Villa is very well equipped, the owners obviously put a lot of time and effort into making sure this Villa has all of the most upgraded/newest appliances, furniture, etc, everything in the Villa looked like it was brand new, the place is very well taken care of. It is right on the water and has an excellent view of the bay, Honestly, the Villa exceeded our expectations in every way possible, we had an absolutely awesome time, epic vacation, my girlfriend still won\'t stop talking about it 3 months later, it was the best trip we have ever taken, I highly highly recommend staying here to anybody, Tarasands is not cheap but trust me it is definitely well worth the money. Also of note, bioluminescence bay is right across the street on the other side of Finger Cay Rd from the Villa so that is a pretty cool activity to do since it is so close, you can rent a kayak from Rum Point and go with a small group right after sunset, very cool. Also, MAKE SURE you go snorkeling at Stingray City, its a once in a lifetime experience!!!!! - Mike H

Beautiful villa and location

We have family on the island but like to have our own space when we visit so have rented many villas in Cayman Kai over the last 20 years. We are picky-picky and Tarasand is one of our favorites. We have zero complaints. More than fair lodging price. Excellent location, incredible views, clean & beautiful kitchen, new/comfortable beds with high quality sheets and tastfully appointed. Plenty of room for the family. Everything in the house was in excellent working order. And well maintained. Lots of little extras included like 5gal bottled water dispenser with water/ plenty of beach towels/etc. Beach is pristine and close to Rum Point--but far enough away for peace and quiet. We will always return to Tarasand. Be sure to book early because it rents fast.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Well equipped for cooking and tons of indoor and outdoor space for everyone to find their own personal vacation spot. Would love it even more if it had its own boat dock, that we had absolutely no problem tying our boat off to the palm tree right in front of our beach. We all would go back and stay at this property again without giving it a second thought.

Peaceful Getaway

We had a great time on the Islands for a wedding week. Everything about the property was great. The only thing I wish is that they had a few Kayaks that could be used by guests. This would save the time and money of having to rent them.

This owner doesn't provide kayaks for liability reasons but then many owners do not provide them. They also do not have a swimming pool for the same reason.  Glad you enjoyed the property!

A REAL family vacation

I cannot explain to you how difficult it is to travel with four children, let alone to find a place where I know I can be comfortable enough to have my kids roam free and not feel they are disturbing others. Being one who is extremely picky with hotels (four children will cause you to pick at every single detail!) after a while I learned hotels and resorts are out of the question, time to stay in rental properties. When deciding to go to Grand Cayman, I was told by many people to stay around 7 mile Beach, but to be honest , as any mom will relate, comfort is hard to find in a busy resort and hidden costs are outrageous. From the second I found the Tarasand property I called right away. Everyone was extremely helpful and there were no hidden costs! Of course I had to get there to believe it, I was extremely nervous, first family vacation with all 4 of my kids all 10 and under...All I have to say is WOW. Tarasand was a dream come true for me. From the moment we walked in, the view of the beach took my breathe away. But just wait until you actually see your backyard. My children were free to roam, snorkel, scream, and all while My husband and I got to relax without worrying about complete strangers sharing our family vacation with us! The water was so clear and beautiful, and no rocks! You will not find a property on the island with a walkable beach like this, trust me, I searched every single home. We literally woke up in our beautiful clean home every morning made our own breakfast and were beach bums till the sun went down. Be ready for a very chill, laid back time. So many people in the area who will catch your fish for you and have dinner to grill! It\'s small town living on the most beautiful island! I can go on and on but honestly, if anyone knows me, they know how picky I am when it comes to the comfort of my family, and I\'m sure any mom can relate. Take it from me, don\'t look any further, book it, you won\'t regret it. It is money well spent!

For once, the internet didn't disappoint. The house was fully as attractive as shown on the web site. The decor was very attractive, and the floor plan worked very well for our family of eight. I especially liked the high quality of everything from the furniture to the kitchen equipment to bed and bath linens. After several trips to town we were thankful to be on the other side, away from the crowds and traffic. We had very good restaurants near us, and only ventured elsewhere to shop and do the stingray/snorkeling trip. One of the best outings was the bioluminescence kayak excursion, and that was from Rum Point, a short walk away. We also enjoyed the Botanical Garden, which is about half way to town. We would highly recommend the restaurants we tried: Rum Point [twice!], both the bistro and Upstairs in Kaibo, Over the Edge, and the Lighthouse Restaurant. That we expected to be "touristy", but the food and service were excellent. I think we would all highly recommend Tarasand to anyone.

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman.

The homes on the sound front in Cayman Kai offer the best beaches as they don't have as much marine and plant life inhabiting the shallows.  The beaches are typically soft white sand.  The homes facing west offer barefoot swimming in shallow calm waters.  The homes facing south (Kaibo Condos & Pools of the Kai) have great white sand beaches, but softer sea bottom.  You will probably want to walk across the street to swim in sandier water.

The sunsets here are also wonderful, but the big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, many water sports, a restaurant bar and grill, a gift shop, and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar, and marina.

Lastly, we have 2 large resorts in the east end (Morritt's and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, a Subway sandwich shop, and a cafe/pastry shop.

These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet skis, windsurfing, kiteboarding, oceanfront pools, and bar service.

General Grand Cayman Beach Notes

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high water mark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. 

Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.

Booking Rules

  • 5 nights minimum stay required.
  • 6 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving week.

  • Christmas & New Year's dates are split into two rental periods. Please inquire with your travel dates prior to booking.
  • Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
  • Must be 25 years or older to lease and must occupy the property during the entire rental period.

Villa Cleaning & Sanitation

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.
