Perfect Birthday Celebration

My spouse and 3 adult children spent a very enjoyable week at Just For Fun. The home had wonderful accommodations and plenty of room for all 5 of us. We spent about every extra minute in the pool and made use of the available kayaks. On my birthday my two daughters and I went for a sunrise paddle. While on the island, we visited Hell, the Cayman Turtle Center, Cayman Crystal Caves, Rum Point Beach and Starfish Point Beach. The island is beautiful and I cannot wait to return.

You Won't Be Disappointed

This private villa was big enough for our grown family of five. As the listing noted, it is QUIET - there isn't much around except beaches, homes/condos etc and about 3 restaurants. Be prepared to eat early and have a stocked fridge as everything closes early - other places that close later are at least 40 mins away. We were prepared and ordered groceries ahead which saved us! The pool was beautiful and the vast property, which has a grill, allowed us to have a couple family cookout days in between other activities. Starfish point and crystal caves are close and our entire family thoroughly enjoyed these experiences. We did other activities in Westbay and 7 mile areas which took a ton of time out of the day due to the drive (approx. 1 hr each way off-season). Again, we were aware and prepared but it did put things in perspective for the remainder of our stay. If you want space, quiet and privacy for a large group this property definitely has it. You wo\'t be disappointed.

Great Spot

Wonderful setup on the bay. Perfect peaceful place to relax. Located in a great spot within walking distance of Rum Point for pickup by Red Sail excursions to Sting Ray City. Also close to Starfish Point and Kaibo. We loved lounging by the pool and the beautiful view.

Good time and excellent rental

We have a great stay and enjoyed time hanging out by the pool. House was very functional for our group of 5. Wi-Fi was very quick. AC worked quite well. We also liked the bar area. Property manager helped facilitate grocery delivery which was very helpful. Some of our water sports facilitated pickup on the house dock. Some of the patio furniture could use a refresh, but still in working condition. Silver Thatch Watersports (Kevin, Edgar, Lowell, and Warren) we’re fantastic. We would love to come back.

Just for Fun = Relaxing Week on the Bio Bay

My husband, adult son, and I spend a relaxing week at Just for Fun in April of 2022. The well-equipped home on the bioluminescent bay was clean and cool upon our arrival. Check in is easy at Silver Thatch Plaza on the way from the airport to the home. Because of rain, we whittled away our time reading and hanging out on the screened in patio on our first couple of days. When the rain ended, we sat under the palapa and enjoyed the breeze. The property manager, Miss Judy, was responsive when cable TV didn't work but it took the cable company a couple of days to respond. If you'll be there on Sunday, please make reservations for brunch at Luca on Seven Mile Beach-it's worth the trek back across the island. Although Rum Point is within a 5 minute walk, it and its bar and restaurant remain closed until further notice as of 4/30/22, and Kaibo Beach Bar & Grill is closed Sun-Tue. Over the Edge is open, and we also enjoyed an early dinner at Mimi's Dock Bar at the Morritt's Resort on the East End and at Italian Kitchen. Dinner at Calypso Grill in West Bay was worth the one hour drive back across the island. If staying in the Rum Point area, we wouldn't hesitate to again rent Just for Fun.

The team at Grand Cayman Villas (especially Scott, Jim and Judy) were absolutely outstanding. I had multiple requests leading up to our stay and the team were responsive and very willing to assist with my requests. I have done a few staycations on island with other rental agencies in the Rum Point / Kaibo area and I must say the team at Grand Cayman Villas stand out above the rest. The house was in immaculate condition and ready upon arrival. There was unfortunately a tropical storm during our stay however we still felt safe in the house and with all the space we still had a great time. The property was well equipped and extremely comfortable. We will definitely be back, outstanding service all around and great value for money.

We really enjoyed Just for Fun. The bay and kayaks were wonderful and the pool was great for cooling off after a day of excursions or fun at the beach. The home had just what we needed and was very comfortable for the five of us. The property manager was a little difficult to reach but beyond that, it was a wonderful experience.

Perfect for our family

We really enjoyed this house. As a family of five with three teenagers, it really met all of our needs. The kids loved kayaking on the bay and the pool and hammock were wonderful for a quick swim or a nap. We used the kitchen nearly every day and used the grill for several dinners. We also enjoyed being so close to the beach. It was very convenient to be so close to the beach and we were even able to schedule a Stingray Sandbar trip that picked us up right from Rum Point.

Perfect Spring Break Getaway

Awesome vacation retreat!

Private, relaxing and plenty of room to enjoy a great vacation. Loved the pool, and the hammock for relaxing and plenty of things to do local with Rum Point right down the way and bioluminescent bay right out of you back door with a private dock. The house was exceptionally clean and everything we needed was there, just bought a few groceries and we were set. Highly suggest doing the silver thatch dinner taxi and going to Fresh Catch and Calypso. Both are amazing and Tukka on the east end was quite a treat as well. You won\'t be disappointed and we will be back!!

We had a wonderful time at Just For Fun. The layout of the house is great for two couples with young kids. There is a terrific screened in porch and lots of space to spread out. The location could not be more perfect- right on the beautiful bay and walking distance to Rum Point. We loved it!

Awesome Vacation Rental-Perfect Spot

We took a week long winter get away at Just For Fun, and we were not disappointed. The pool/beach was a perfect retreat from the snow at home. The house was perfect for the 4 of us...kitchen was well stocked, bathrooms were all clean and had plenty of towels, linens ect...It is a short walk to the Beach bar/restaurant and Star Fish point ( a must see!! ). Note- you can rent coolers and other misc items ( for free) at the Silver Thatch Guest services...The views are spectacular at this island paradise!

An Absolutely Perfect Place!

Upon arriving, our initial impression was how attractively it was decorated. The colors and finishes were so lovely! The house had everything we needed for cooking, recreation and relaxation. Last Minute Gem

We were scrambling for a last minute vacation spot since Irma ruined our St. Thomas plans. The house and location were amazing. We spent every day in the fabulous pool and walked down the street for delicious frozen drinks at Rum Point. Chartered a boat from Silver Thatch and the awesome captain, George, picked us up at our dock. While the more reviewed restaurants get all the buzz, make sure you stop by Over the Edge Bar and Grill. Our hearts are with everyone affected by these terrible storms but found a true gem in the Cayman’s at Just For Fun!

Wonderful Property

As the saying goes; \"Location is everything.\" For our first trip to Grand Cayman we couldn\'t have been more pleased with where our choice for accommodations was located. After using one of our precious vacation days by spending a full day on Seven Mile Beach we were ecstatic to get back to the laid back vibe of the Rum Point area. The booking process for Just For Fun couldn\'t have been easier. We downloaded the villa company app which came in very handy for directions to the villa. While the interior is not a luxurious five star villa, everything is in great condition and extremely functional. The kitchen has a big refrigerator, nice stove and plenty of sinks. The dishware is perfect for indoor/outdoor use. The real stunning factor of this home is the outside. The pool is perfect for children and adults. In June it gets sun for most of the day. Please use sunscreen. I relaxed in the hammock several times. My son kayaked on his own for the first time. We took a father-son sunset kayak late one afternoon. The grills in most villa rentals are usually in terrible condition. So I was delighted to see the grill was in excellent condition. We grilled our lunch three or four times. Our favorite places to eat were Eagle Ray\'s (lion fish taco\'s-yum) and BBQ night at Kaibo. We also highly recommend chartering the boat from Silver Thatch Charter. Captain George is great. If you book the early charter he will keep you away from the crowds. We had Stingray City virtually to ourselves.

Just For Fun Delivered

I hate to right a great review for this place because I don\'t want the secret to get out but I am compelled to. We\'ve been to Grand Cayman 4 times in the last 6 years and have always stayed in the Rum Point area and always booked through grandcaymanvillas.net. First off Jim and his team at Grand Cayman Villas are wonderful to deal with and go the extra mile to ensure your vacation is perfect. Our property manager Judy Ebanks also went above and beyond. We preordered our groceries from Cost U Less and had them delivered to the villa for our arrival. Judy made sure there was a 12 pack of beer in the fridge to be cold for our arrival (you don\'t know how much this means to me) Upon reviewing our order we realized that we were delivered plantains instead of bananas, no big deal but a few hours later there was a knock on our door and it was Judy dropping off a bundle of bananas for us. Totally unnecessary but what an amazing gesture. As far as the property goes it was absolutely perfect for us. It had all of the amenities that we needed and the pool was amazing and backing on to the bay with a dock which was great for peaceful morning coffee. The ocean was directly across the street and made for easy access. The property was clean and exactly as advertised. We went with a group of 30 people and rented neighbouring properties, The Great Escape and Rainbows End. Also great properties and nice for a large group of people to be close to each other. Rum Point is about 100 yards down the road where you can enjoy some water sports and a restaurant (can be a little pricey though) If you book Just For Fun you will not be disappointed. We will be back again! “3BR-Just For Fun: Oceanfront Private Cottage with Sizable Pool, Barefoot Beach”

Loved the location and the pool This was our second time to Caymen, after a day visit from a cruise two years ago. We weren\'t sure where we wanted to stay, but decided against Seven Mile Beach area because of the crowds. The North Side seemed to get good reviews, so we gambled and it payed off. Overall, I loved Grand Cayman and the house was a great home base from which to explore. Points on the house location. 1. Great location on quiet side of the island. Virtually no traffic and very peaceful. 2. Construction was going on across the street. It didn\'t bother us much and we got a discount because of it. 3. Rum Point Club down the block. I wasn\'t super impressed with it. The swimming area was ok. There are better beaches on the island. The restaurant and bar were super expensive and the food was mediocre at best. But you can book excursions to snorkel or go to Sting Ray City there. That was convenient. 4. The house is actually on a bay, not the ocean. It was fine, but we couldn\'t really swim there. There were jelly fish in the bay while we were there. My kids did kayak though. We tried to see the Bioluminescence at night, but weren\'t lucky enough. Not sure if it was the timing or what. 5. We were a quick five minute drive to Starfish Point which was a nice beach. 6. There is no grocery store nearby. There is a place called Chisolms about 5 - 10 minutes away, but the prices were really high there. Stop on the way in at the corner of Hirst and Shamrock. There is a decent IGA there. 7. You\'ll need to plan a couple of day trips to go over to the more touristy things on the other side of the island. There are some beaches over there definitely worth checking out (Cemetery Beach was a favorite). Continued

3BR-Just For Fun: Oceanfront Private Cottage with Sizable Pool, Barefoot Beach-Continued

Points on the house: 1. Very clean. 2. Great pool. Very well kept. This was awesome for the kids. 3. Had outside showers for when we got back from the beach so we didn\'t have to track in all of the sand. 4. Kitchen is kind of stocked. I\'ve done other VRBO rentals with better kitchen equipment. We could have used some sharp knives for fileting fish (or at least a sharpener). 5. The living room furniture isn\'t that conducive to family gatherings. We wanted to watch movies a few nights and it was a little uncomfortable. 6. The beds and bedding were all fine. Again - everything was clean. 7. We had enough towels, but did have to launder them a few times. Mostly that\'s because my kids have an issue with hanging up their towels. All in all - I would recommend.

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman.

The cove-front homes in Cayman Kai offer calm serene water for docking a rental boat, charter boat pick-up, or just safe shallow swimming for little children. Adults won’t swim in the cove as the Rum Point Club is too nice by comparison.

You get the best of both worlds at Just For Fun: a backyard facing the cove with a private pool and boat dock, proximity to the Rum Point Club, plus an idyllic beach across the street.  Public right-of-way beach access is located diagonally across the street.

The big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, water sports, a restaurant bar and grill, a gift shop, and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also nearby is the Kaibo Yacht Club featuring a fine dining restaurant, a casual beach bar and grill, and a marina. Overall, Cayman Kai is a fabulous neighborhood dotted with million-dollar oceanfront villas and sweeping views.

Lastly, about 20 minutes east we have 2 large resorts (Morritt's and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, a Subway sandwich shop, and a cafe/pastry shop. These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet skis, windsurfing, kiteboarding, oceanfront pools, and bar service.

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high water mark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. 

Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.

Lower Occupancy Discounts

Owner offers lower rates for fewer guests:

  • Groups of 4 or fewer guests, staying over non-holiday nights, receive a $75 discount off the daily rate.
  • Unoccupied bedrooms will be locked off for the duration of your stay.

Occupancy Discounts are automatically applied against the full base rent when entering your dates and number of guests.

Booking Rules

  • 5 nights minimum stay required.
  • 6 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving week.
  • 7 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Christmas and New Year's week.
  • Christmas & New Year's dates are split into two rental periods. Please inquire with your travel dates prior to booking.
  • Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
  • Must be 25 years or older to book and must occupy the property during the entire stay.

Villa Cleaning & Sanitation

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.
