We Loved It!

by Cynthia
My ex-husband and I took our three young adult children and their significant others to Grand Cayman for a week. We were looking for a house where we could lounge, eat, and also leave to enjoy various activities. The property was perfect for our needs. We had \"chill\" days and we had active days. It was our first time to the island and we loved it!

Memories Cherished

by Bonnie
Eleven of us (including two children under seven) enjoyed a fantastic week at Hidden Cove. The villa was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the many amenities that the villa had to offer, including bicycles, kayaks, bocce ball, and a wonderful pool. On one day, we booked the Stingray City and Snorkel Charter through Silver Thatch. Warren was our guide, and he knew all about the best snorkeling spots. We all left Grand Cayman with wonderful memories!

Great Place

by Shaena
We really enjoyed the property for our Cayman Island trip. Everything was clean, the property came with everything it listed and it was easy to borrow snorkel gear, high chairs, pack n play from the silver thatch club as well. This was a great place to stay and the pool was amazing.

Annual Travel group

by Jim Bob
There were 10 in our group ranging from 30 - 64 years old. The house was fantastic. The kitchen was set up with everything one would need for a week. We had Thomas with Tom Foodery come in and cook for us twice. Highly recommend, as no one has to drive and you just kick back and relax. Most days were spent relaxing at the house by the pool. We also played bocce everyday in the back yard. The bicycles were a hit and were used everyday. Especially to run down to Kaibo Beach Restaurant for a drink or something to eat. We also used them to explore Starfish point. We also used the Kayaks 2 or 3 times. Going across the street to the Bio-Luminescent bay was a great place to paddle the kayaks around. The only excursion we took was a snorkeling/stingray city trip with Silver thatch charters. They were very good and used enough time out snorkeling to allow us to get to stingray and have the whole place to ourselves. The cruise boat excursions had to leave before 5pm. The weather was beautiful and 85 everyday. Overall it was a great trip and we would do it again. But we like to explore new places, so we will probably end up at St John/Thomas next year. Safe travels

Easter 2022

by Judy

We absolutely loved this property...there are a few suggestions to improve it even further, but we have stayed at many, many homes in the Cayman Kai area over the years, and have become quite discerning and have high expectations. The first would be to acquire a second fridge/freezer combo in the garage if necessary, the main fridge struggled to accomodate the needs of adults in a 6-bedroom house for a week. Similarly, parking at the house posed an issue for us as residents, with only sufficient space for 4 small cars. Secondly, the amazing pool and deck could be improved further by adding shade sails for more protection from the morning-to-mid-afternoon sun. Also, a refresh to the citronella candles outside is desperately needed. A larger bbq grill could also help....but like I said, we are quite picky! Otherwise, the house is well equipped.

Thank you for the feedback.

A second fridge has been added as has an additional BBQ Grill. There are additional citronella in the garage.

Thank you,

Just as pictured in the listing

by Carol
Our group of nine (ages 10 to 77) really enjoyed our stay at Hidden Cove. It is an ideal set up for a large group of family/friends because of the layout. The house is well furnished and equipped and the availability of bikes and kayaks was a bonus. Many years ago I had stayed in a hotel on seven mile beach while visiting Grand Cayman and while I enjoyed that stay, it paled in comparison to being in the Kaibo Beach area. This house offers so much privacy - and truly lovely views.

Wonderful Vacation

by Duane
We were a party of seven that have traveled together for many years. The house, furnishings and location exceeded our expectations. Everything was as advertised or or better. The folks at Silver Thatch were very helpful and made the required testing very convenient. Karen did a great job keeping us informed and with housekeeping. We had cars but there are two really good restaurants within walking distance. Unfortunately the Wreck Bar was closed but rumor has it that it will be reopening in March. Good time was had by all!

Great family House

by Annie Edwards

Everything was beautiful, aside from the stove, we were not able to use any other pots to cook for 12 people, i would recommend bigger pots are needed. Linens need to be of better quality. We were not made aware that gas needed to be purchased for the grill. Property manager was very helful. Too much day light in the rooms, so no one was able to get much needed rest. Dark curtains are recommended. I will most definately rent again once recommendation are sorted.

Thank  you for the comments.  We added many more pans that are needed for the induction stove to ensure plenty available.   New "dark" curtains were added to counter the light and ensure rooms dark when required.  2 new Gas stoves for BBQ are hooked up to large propane Gas.     New linen also supplied

Special Week in Cayman

We had a very special week here in the Cayman\'s. Our location so close to Rum Point turned out to be perfect for our adventures. The kids loved kayaks, bikes, & swimming pool. The adults appreciated the grill and the dock. All in all we had so much fun and are sad to be leaving the island today.

Stingrays + Home Away from Home

We pet, smooched, fed, and held stingrays during our stay here for a wedding. The house was perfect for our stay. We loved the water. Taking the kayaks to the water was relaxing. The crabs in the backyard felt like our own person pets 🙂 we had a blast.

Wonderful Home!

by Cindy
Beautiful home and location. The home is newly renovated and they’ve done a beautiful job. The kitchen is big and we loved having the large dining table for dinner together. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the 9 of us. The family room is large and is a great space to hangout with most of the room surrounded by windows. The pool is great! It’s big and the kids especially liked the lights at night. Being located right on the water allowed us to use the kayaks often and the teenage boys fished right off the deck. There were plenty of bikes for everyone and we used them everyday to explore different beaches and restaurants. The people managing the property and the owners were wonderful! I can’t say enough of how incredibly responsive they were to any questions or requests we had! We would definitely come back and stay at this wonderful home!

Wonderful Home, Great Location

by Marilyn
After searching for a reasonably priced home that could sleep 10, we settled on Hidden Cove. Two families with 6 children. Never a dull moment, always activities in the area. Rum Point was our favorite hangout. Many water sports there, lunch hut, drinks with umbrellas, and an excellent dinner restaurant. The interior is nicely laid out. Plenty of room. Modern kitchen with everything you need. We did eat in many dinners, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Bedrooms were large and comfy. Thank you for sharing Hidden Cove!

Hidden Cove = Hidden Secret

by Appletons
We loved Hidden Cove. The home is well maintained and in a great location. Private with ocean access across the street and a walk away at Rum Point, Kaibo and starfish point! We ate most meals at the home, Kaibo and Rum Point. The kids kayaked safely every day. Nice having the kayaks supplied by the owner! This was our third time to Grand Cayman and we will return to Hidden Cove.

Quiet at Hidden Cove

by Sandra

Hidden Cove had everything we could have ever wanted. We were a family of 9 and everyone had a quiet place to sleep! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed! The kayaks and bikes provided hours of entertainment for all. We used the pool everyday - kids loved waking up and jumping in! Even out 12 week old grandson spent a little time there! The location was perfect - we loved walking to the Kaibo coffee shop for breakfast and spending afternoons at Rum Point! Drinks were fabulous and workers very friendly. While here we snorkeled with the turtles at Spotts Bay, visited Georgetown, took a boat excursion with Blair at Blue Haven charter, and spent many enjoyable evenings with family members also here for Christmas. We ate at Over the Edge, Kaibo, Eagle Ray, Lighthouse, Rum Point, Margaritaville! All wonderful dining experiences complete with typical ‘Island Charm’! We have been visiting this beautiful for years and it never disappoints! Hidden Cove was such a great property for our family - something for Everyone! Many thanks to the owners for thinking of Everything! God willing - we will return!

Thank you kindly.

Please come back soon!!!

Great Adventuring Home

by The Kinsley Family

This is the perfect adventuring house! Has tons of extra amenities other home don't like bikes and kayaks that you can take right into the cove. We loved hanging outside by the pool and cove. From Hidden Cove, you can walk to Starfish Point and Rum Point Club. Kids loved both quite a bit. We also really enjoy the bioluminescent bay tour. The water lights up like stars. Really really cool. Hidden Cove is a nice vacation home if you\'re looking for a nice private vacation.

Perfect Private Retreat

by The Jackson's

This is the perfect family home. They offer 10 bikes and four kayaks which was perfect for us because our kids love to be adventurous. We also booked a charter to see the Stingrays which they loved. This home is very private and allows our family to create great memories together. We look forward to our trip to Hidden Cove every year. Beautiful home.

Loved Our Stay

by The Rosina Family
The definition of hidden hideaway is Hidden Cove! This private little retreat sits on the cove with four kayaks you can jump right into the water! You get a little sandy beach area too but it\'s not on the water. We preferred to all have kayaks rather than a full beachfront. This home has nice outdoor areas for dining and lounging. We loved our stay at Hidden Cove!

Cayman Getaway

The villa and property are kept very tidy. The addition of kayaks and bicycles that were available added to the enjoyment of the vacation. The location is perfectly between the Kaibo and Rum Point, for a nice quiet spot just a few minute walk or drive to a nice beach, restaurants and other places. The on-island manager was very responsive to email requests during the stay and issues were addressed promptly. Our group of 10 really enjoyed our time together at the house! Thank you for sharing it with us!! Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful vacation.

Hidden Gem

by Hubert
Hidden Cove was the perfect hidden gem for our family! I felt like we were at home the whole time we were here. My husband grilled by the pool most nights and when we didn\'t eat in, we went out to local restaurants (Tukka, Over the Edge, Kaibo Restaurant). We had our own little private dock that the kids were able to kayak to and from. I loved waking up and taking a cup of coffee out by the pool! We even played cornhole on the sandy patch right next to the house. All in all an excellent time! We\'ll be back

The perfect spot for an epic family vacation!

by jeff and debbie
We spent a week at Hidden Cove and it was everything that we had hoped it would be. This house was the perfect spot for a large family to take advantage of all that the North Side had to offer. We were able to kayak and snorkel right out the back door, which was awesome. The location was perfect for biking to Rum Point, the beach and loads of restaurants. The owners (the Ballards) were super accommodating and the property\'s manager, Karen, made our stay here easy. The house itself was spacious enough to provide for our family of eleven. The common areas allowed us to spend some great quality time, while the many bedrooms also offered enough space to seek some solitude. All in all we had a memorable vacation that we will not soon forget. Thank you Hidden Cove... we will (hopefully) be back soon.

Great for a large group

by Janet Brandon

This area is great for a quieter family getaway. We totally enjoyed the peace and quiet. All that we require was within 20 minutes drive. We enjoyed the ferry to Camana Bay and a couple of beach dinners at Kaibo Marina. The snorkeling was great anywhere we went and driving the east shore is a must. My first taste of Caribbean life sold me, I'll be back

Rum Point and Grand Cayman Family vacation

by Susan

House is perfect for a group of 12. We all enjoyed the bikes, walks, kayaks, cooking equipment and space. Master Bedroom and Bath were super and hopefully TV's will work in all the rooms next time not just the one in the living room. Any calls we made to property manager was immediately answered and most politely. We would definitely stay here again and found the entire booking along with all other information most helpful. The mainstaysailing.com Catamaran outing you recommended was the highlight of our trip. Thanks for making our family vacation such a memorable one.

Great location for chilling

by Sheryl

We had a great time relaxing at the pool, riding the bikes to Rum Point beach, kayaking and hanging out at the Kaibo Yacht club.  The house was well designed for both privacy and family time.  Kitchen had everything we needed and the Grand Cayman Villas team helped us find the services we needed.  Chef Remy and his team were wonderful.  Great meals and wonderful presence.  The house is on the North side of the island, the quiet and privacy and lack of competition for resources were just what we needed.

Thank you for your kind review! Please come back soon!!!

Only thing missing was the boat

by Sheryl

We had a great experience at Hidden Cove.  Well appointed kitchen and great layout, allowing ample time together and privacy.  Use of the kayaks and bikes was great.  We found a boat in the garage- wish it had been available to us.  Loved the quietness of this side of the island.  With Rum Point beach in walking or biking distance, and tours leaving from Kiabo, this location was ideal.  Weather was outstanding, sun is strong- got a serious tan without even trying.   Must see the view from Pedro point at Pedro St. James- spectular

Lesson Learned - HOT in March!

by brenda

No kidding.  We were so excited the minute we got off the plane.  The temp was fantastic, hot by our standards in Minnesota!  The villa was very nicely decorated and comfortable.  Bathrooms were large and the air conditioners worked well.  Evenings had a nice breeze.  We were worried about mosquitos but never had an issue while we were there.  Rum Point was a nice safe location - our kids walked to and from rum point with no issues.  Very little local traffic only.  Snorkeling, diving, swimming, eating, tours and excursions were fabulous.  We hope to return again.

Winter Away!!!!

by Grace

So nice to get away from cold and snow!!!  First of all what a nice island!  This was our first time to Grand Cayman and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice everyone on the island was!

The home was perfect for our needs as we had 4 children from 11-15 yrs old.  They never found a boring moment - always things to do.  We travelled around the island by rental car - a must for anyone coming for their first trip.  Crystal Caves, botanical gardens and blow holes were among our favorites.  But the most fun was taking a Red Sail boat to stingray sandbar to literally play with stingrays!!!  This is a must for anyone going to Cayman.  We also loved kayaking at night in bio bay - still amazed by the glowing waters!

Please let this short review act as our recommendation to anyone looking at this home and Grand Cayman as a place to spend their vacation.  We loved it and will return!

Spring Break Memories

by Sally P.

4 adults and 6 children - Can't thank you enough for sharing your lovely home with us for our Spring break trip this year.  The kids loved the home and the adults enjoyed our time with friends as well.  Everyone seemed to find their space and we never felt on top of one another.  The boys spent hours kayaking and the girls sat by the pool.  Everyone enjoyed walking to rum point for meals and drinks.  The Silver Thatch card provided with the rental was a nice money saver.  We could not have been happier with the home, the decor, cleanliness upon arrival, professional management tean, start to finish.  We recommend Hidden Cove and Grand Cayman Villas!

So Much Fun

by Elaine F.

We had two families with ages ranging from 8 months to grandparents.  There was plenty for us to do at the home.  Several games were there and the kayaks were used every day.  Having a pool was a plus for the children.  Walks to rum point were easy and we went threre pretty much every day.  The home was stocked with everything we needed as we cooked at home most nights.  We did have dinner at rum point club and at the kaibo on two nights.  Booth experiences were rewarding.  We will return - just not soon enough!

Very nice home and location

by Will

We stayed at Hidden Cove for a week in October.  The weather was fine - we had been worried about that time of year, but it was hot and sunny during our stay!  The home itself is in a fantastic location, close to barefoot swimming at Rum Point, close to sea excursions from the Kaibo, kayaking in bio bay, snorkeling and swimming at starfish point, etc.  We had 9 adults and never felt cramped at all.  Highly recommended!

BEAUTIFUL AMAZING AWESOME PARADISE

by JB

We have just returned from this beautiful property with nothing but regrets that our stay couldn't have been longer.  We had the most amazing time and the amenities at this quiet beautiful home were amazing.  We had many firsts from riding the bikes to Star Fish Point to experience our early morning private (natural) viewing of star fish and sting rays to kayaking out into the bay; which were both generously offered free by the owner.  Kaibo and Rum Point are "a must see" especially during sunset and within walking/biking distance.  The north side of the island is very quiet and not at all crowded.  We use VRBO often and this home owner couldn't have been easier/nicer to deal with.  We are already planing a return to this once in a lifetime paradise.

Large home w 6 bd rooms/5 baths, short walk to Kaibo Rest and Rum Point Beach + many amenities + privacy

by duke

Very quiet street, short walks to Kaibo Restaurant and coffee, Rum Point Beach and Star Fish point.  Amenities abound including: Internet, pool, 6 bicyles, several kayaks for the use of the guests.

From the back of the house, one can access the bay for kayaking, to the beach or among the mangroves or to a larger bay from an access point across the street.  Having the bikes available has been a plus because we used them in the morning for a leasurely ride to Kaibo coffee shop for coffee on the available tables only about 10 ft from the gentle surf, listening to the breeze hustling through the palm trees and see pines, watching perhaps Georgetown in the distance.

Also having the kayaks allowing us to experience the Bioluminescent Bay, which is literally across the street, 25 yards or so away.  This is one of the 7 only bioluminescent bays in the WORLD.  Here it is, only 25 yards from this house.  As you move your hand or the oar in the water, your hand and the oars suddenly glow in the dark water.  Without the kayaks, renters have to find a way to get into the middle of the bay to experience this, in the late evening, but here the owner was kind enough to supply them as free amenities.  So it is just a matter of carrying the kayaks 25 yards across the street to an opening to get into the bay and you are in the middle of a wonder of our world.  The bay itself is not very deep, only about 6 ft and the water is very calm and protected.  The owner also provides life jackets as well..Nice touch.

The roads around the north side of grand cayman is not very crowded so the use of the bike is a real pleasure as one can enjoy the short ride around this section of town.  The back of the house where the pool is, is shaded from the afternoon sun, so we can sit in the shade, enjoying the pool without getting burned by the sun.  I just simply felt asleep in one of the lounge chair, not worrying about getting too hot. This is a well designed modern home. Enjoyable to stay.

Hidden Cove is on the canal behind Cayman Kai and enjoys the privacy of distant views of the mangroves and lush interior of the island.

The house offers a seawall dock with room for a rental boat or private charter collection point.  6 Kayaks are provided and our guests often taken them on mangrove tours.

For a barefoot beach visit Gardens of the Kai diagonally across the street; the white sandy beach there is open to the public.

General Grand Cayman Beach Notes

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high water mark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.

Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.

We try our best to work around mother nature.
