Stayed here many times and will stay again

I have been to Grand Cayman many times and was fortunate to discover this home on my first visit to the island. Every time I have returned I have chosen to stay at Cayman Dream. The home is quiet, well maintained and has all the conveniences of home. The property manager was quick to return a call to me before I booked my trip and the rest of the trip and stay was just as easy as it has always been. If you want out of the way, more quiet and laid back vacation, the north side of the island and Cayman Dream will fit. There are restaurants, small grocery store and other conveniences you need without having to drive to Georgetown. And if Georgetown is necessary, it\'s a short 30 minute or so drive there. I would highly recommend Cayman Dream for its amenities, quiet atmosphere and price and when I return again to Grand Cayman, this is the place I will stay.

Relax...

We\'ve been to Grand Cayman a few times before. This was our first post-pandemic trip, and we were so happy to return. The house was clean and well-appointed, and it was exactly what we expected. It is located on the quieter north side of the island, and it is convenient to Rum Point. While Rum Point itself has been closed and is undergoing renovation, the location is still quite convenient to the Kai Peninsula (Kaibo Yacht Club) and other restaurants such as Over the Edge. Our only nits with the house are relatively minor: a stiff mattress and saloon doors leading to the master bath. These were more than made up for by the quality of the view, including the pool, pool deck, and screened porch. The interior decorations and furnishings were fun and reflected care. As others have noted, the beaches are rocky, and depending on the season and how recently they have been raked, there can be quite a bit of weeds or garbage. Because we have experienced this with other properties, we didn\'t consider this to be particularly noteworthy; those new to the island and the north side should take note.

Perfect house and the perfect location

Beautiful Home

House was beautiful and very clean! Great staying on this quieter side of the island. As others have mentioned, bring water shoes for the beach as it is rocky. Excellent snorkeling off the beach. House had everything we could need and would definitely stay here again. Rental company was very friendly and we loved being able to borrow snorkel equipment.

Cayman Dream is aptly named!

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely home in January. We could easily have accommodated 2-3 more people, had we chosen to do so. The house design is extremely livable, with privacy for both bedrooms and well-furnished common areas. The king bed was very comfortable; we absolutely loved sleeping with the French doors open to the salt air! Our favorite room was the screened porch across the entire back. The furniture there is sturdy and well cushioned; we loved feeling the breeze, hearing the ocean, and watching the chickens and visiting cat. The lot is quite private with beautiful views of the ocean. The pool was a bit cool during our week, but we did use it once. The kitchen was well appointed for preparing meals, and it was really nice to have the basic spices, cleaners, towels, and toiletries provided. In terms of location, it could not have been better. We spent a lot of time at nearby Rum Point, which was conveniently also where our Bio-luminescence Tour departed. There are plenty of restaurants in the general area, and day trips to the rest of the island were a breeze. We would definitely stay here again!

Cayman Dream is aptly named!

My husband and I enjoyed a week at Cayman Dream in January, and it really was perfect. The house could easily have accommodated another 2-3 people, had we chosen to do so. The kitchen was well appointed with everything required to prepare meals. Basics like paper products, soap, dish and laundry detergent were already there, which is always appreciated. Linens, including beach towels, were also provided. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect in terms of privacy and convenience. We thoroughly enjoyed as many days lounging at the house as we did on excursions to many nearby places of interest. Our favorite part was the screened in porch, which has a fantastic feel due to the comfortable furniture, view, and breeze. We enjoyed watching the chicken parade (who knew they jump?!) and the visiting white cat. This was one of our most relaxing vacations!

Cayman Dream

Our family of six absolutely loved this place! Everything about it was exactly as described in the listing. Management was very responsive both before and during our stay. The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Location is gorgeous and quiet and private. The beach is very rocky in front of the house but the view is gorgeous and Rum Point beach with great snorkeling is close by. Highly recommend this property!

Cayman Dreamy!

We spent two week on this amazing island. We spent our first week at Cayman Dream and we wish we would have stayed there for both weeks. Property was beautifully decorated, maintained and updated. It exceeded expectations. The appliances were like new, the property manager notified us of when the pool/ maintenance/lawn care was coming by. There is clearly great pride taken by the property managers and owners. We will be back!!

Our new favorite vacation place!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cayman Dream! Our criticisms (below) amount to small nitpicks. The property itself was in great condition and the perfect size for our family of six. It was very clean and had everything we could want for our week-long stay. Lots of utensils and bedding, beach towels, etc. Love the huge screened-in porch facing the water. The booking process was very smooth and professional and any questions we had prior to our arrival were answered promptly. Our on-island property manager responded to our requests/concerns quickly and professionally. She coordinated grocery delivery for us prior to arrival and responded when we had trouble connecting to wifi. (The wifi worked great once we re-started the modem.) The location of this property is ideal if you would rather be away from the busy Seven Mile Beach area. We absolutely loved the location and were so glad we chose this area. Rum Point is a short drive/bike ride away (rented bikes from Cayman Bike Company--they delivered to property for us) and although there were some reports of Rum Point being busy midday we did not find this to be the case--it is a large area and it is easy to get away from people if you prefer. The snorkeling at Rum Point is excellent. We booked a private stingray/snorkel tour through Silver Thatch and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our captain was Joe and he was an excellent guide. We highly recommend this activity! Complimentary snorkel equipment from Silver Thatch was great. Also enjoyed the complimentary use of Apple TV. Silver Thatch gym is basic but nice to have access to while on vacation. On the downside, beach in front of property is rocky (we were warned ahead about this), swimming pool water is cold, beds are on the hard side and pillows could be comfier. Also, it would be nice to have access to a safe for valuables. However, none of these are game-changers. We would not hesitate to recommend this property, and in fact hope to return ourselves.

Spectacular!

Cayman Dream was everything we imagined it to be and MORE! The website photos are beautiful but to actually SEE the house is even better! So much detail in the decorations, fully equipped, etc...everything was wonderful! We would definitely stay here again and highly highly recommend this property! Only downfall would be that it is located in quite a secluded area so a car is a necessity. Which is not a big deal, if you\'re ok with driving on the left! Other than that, this property is an A++!!!!

Cayman Dream villa

Outstanding vacation! We had such a great time relaxing at the villa with all the amenities. The villa itself is lovely, clean, and comfortable. The location and setting were exactly what we wanted, our own piece of Cayman. It is a good size inside and out, we felt we had plenty of room for our large family. The kitchen is full of everything we needed and it was great to have the laundry room. We enjoyed many activities with Silver Thatch water sports, went horseback riding at Pretty Ponies, and a dinner cruise with Red Sail- all of which we would recommend. Silver Thatch was outstanding in training our kids to scuba in the pool at the villa and they went on 2 ocean dives that were a highlight of the trip. We will definitely use them again on future trips! Villa management was great, easy to reach if we had a question. All in all, we can\'t wait to go back!

Wonderful Family Vacation Home

My family stayed here the week after Christmas. We arrived to the home and it was clean and mostly as described. The layout was exactly what we like, open! It did have two bedrooms. One with a very large master bathroom. The other bathroom was the one for the main living space. We had read that it had pull out couches which were not the case, but we made it work. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed. It would be nice to have a gas grill but the one they had mostly did the job. The living/dining room area was fabulous to hang out in as a family. The best part of the house is the outdoor space. The have a HUGE screened in patio with couch and table. The views are beautiful and they do provide plenty of outdoor seating. The pool was ok. It was a bit cold as it is not heated. The adults did not really use it and even some of the kids found it to cold to use. The waterfront is gorgeous to look at but obviously on this side of the island it is not a swimmable beach. It is good location as it is close to Star Fish Point, Stingray City, and Rum Point. It is not near Seven Mile Beach but we knew that when booking and that is why the rental price is as affordable as it is! All in all we would stay here again.

Wonderful, Cute Cayman Cottage!

Wow we were shocked how cute this place was when we arrived. The landscaping out front created a wonderful buffer - this home lies on a deep property and we never heard traffic drive by! The screened porch across the back of the home was a wonderful surprise that we enjoyed every night (didn\'t notice the porch in the pictures). The pool is just large enough and the kids spent a good amout of time there when they were not roaming the beach. The snorkeling was fantastic right off the beach and we swam many different fish every time out there. We ventured to rum point on several occasions for lunches and afternoon swim and sun... Highly recommended for families with children or two adult couples even. We will come again soon!

Away from the Madness of 7 Mile Beach

My mother has lived in Cayman since 1978 so I know a little about the island. When some friends asked if we would go with them on a week long trip, we selected Cayman Dream as our base of operations! What a delightful place! Just a short drive to my favorite restaurant, Over the Edge, we really enjoyed the seclusion that this property offers while still being easily accessible. Price was also a consideration.

Amazing Style!

We had a great time and would love to come back there was tho some glass on the beach which could have cut someone but it was very clean after the gardener came. We had some fun games and built some rock towers but there were some bugs. The pool was a little cold but refreshing so thank you very much for a great stay and we loved the little walkways a great house for a family of 5

Dream Vacay

This property is the ideal location for anyone wanting to chill in style. Beautiful views of the ocean from poolside. On my daily walks I found conch shells in the shallows - with live conch in them! We didn\'t snorkel here so I can\'t say anything about it but other review said it was outstanding. You are a short drive from Rum Point and Starfish Point - both are excellent locations to snorkel and see wildlife. I highly recommend picking up groceries on your way in to the property - it\'s a bit of a drive to a decent grocer. Food on the island is a bit pricey so we picked up stuff for light meals and snacks and dined out in the evening but you could cook everything at home. We didn\'t see anyone on the beach until the day before we left - it truly is a private beach and we all enjoyed the screened in back porch whenever it rained or we needed a break from the sun. So peaceful and beautiful and the home is very comfortable. We felt right at home. The day we explored the 7 Mile Beach area showed the sharp contrast - it was packed with people! We would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend Cayman Dream.

Dream Come True

Our trip was so special, partly due to staying at this lovely home. It has island charm & cheerful colors with all the comforts of home. It was spotless & clean. It is larger than it looks in the photos, and has room for at least 6 people. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the living areas for privacy. The beach had debris that had washed up, but the first day I cleaned it and there were only a few stray bottle caps that washed up the rest of the time. The beach is not smooth and sandy, so water shoes are a must (buy at Red Sail in Rum Point). Avoid swimming towards the neighbor to the right (east) as there is a dangerous current. Didi and Jim were very helpful as we went through the booking process. Upon arrival the app had the wrong key code for the lock box. I called our on-island manager and within minutes she got us the correct code. Because this is a relatively small island, we thought we\'d be bored at the end of our 9-day stay. Not so. There are a lot of attractions and activities around the island. Once we got used to driving on the left, it\'s easy to get around. Highlights: White Sand Water Sports delivered stand-up paddle boards right to the house. And we used White Sand for a trip to Sting Ray City - an awesome experience! For groceries try Fosters in Bodden Town. Great selection. There\'s a liquor store near Fosters called Jacques something or other, but there\'s one closer near Morritts on the north east in the same strip mall as the Italian Kitchen. We ate there, no water view, but a nice place. My wahoo almondine was soooo good. The Lighthouse is a good choice for a special dinner. Over-the-Edge is a casual place with good breakfasts, lunch or diner, and beautiful water views. Our favorite dinner was on the porch at Rum Point Restaurant. Tukka is good, too. Great service everywhere & friendly people. Everyone accepts US dollars/credit cards, which made it easy. We\'d definitely come back & stay at the same house. Wonderful experience, great trip!!

Cayman Dream was Our Dream

Our trip to Cayman this year was very special as we were celebrating our 50th anniversary. I say this as I want to emphasis how important the choice of rental properties was to our trip. We have been vacationing in the Cayman Islands for over 25 years, mostly in our own home but the last few times we have rented from VRBO. I don’t believe that I need to review the Island and all its excellent features as our continued returns speak for it self and the reviews by other renters have this well covered. I do want to say a few words about Cayman Dream. We wanted a home that reflected the Cayman atmosphere and not just a regular home. We had high expectations of Cayman Dream and they were met if not exceeded. The owners have obviously taken immense pride in decorating and furnishing the house and keeping the grounds groomed. The quality of the linens, furniture and appliances was top grade. Everything was well maintained. The beach area was raked and cleared although the turtle grass was along the shore line as it was that time of year, so nothing could be done. The owners must be thanked for their care and ensuring that the house was as advertised.To write a balanced review I must suggest that a regular toaster would be nice to have in the kitchen. I could go on, but the bottom line is when we next return to Cayman our choice of property will be Cayman Dream.

Hidden Gem ~ Thanks for the Memories

This lovely home on the more quiet and beautiful north shore, made for a perfect holiday. We are two retired couples looking for adventure and relaxation and we got lots of both! For relaxing you can\'t beat the pool to come home to after touring all day. But we never missed a night out on the lounge chairs looking for shooting stars or our morning coffee out by the pool almost catching the sun rise but always getting a visit from the 2 resident lion lizards living under the shells. The house is truly a home -- beautifully decorated and supplied with all one needs - - great kitchen, comfy beds and lots of beach towels! And sooooo clean!! The new tile bath is beautiful and everything is so well kept. The owners and property managers take pride and loving care of this home and it shows. We arrived just as hurricane \"Michael\" passed by and it had really kicked up the seaweed and trash on the beach and debris in the pool. Both were cleaned up the first day - AMAZING! Rum Point was a favorite -- so close and such a fun atmosphere. Beautiful Starfish Point is nearby. Went to HELL and back then visited the Turtle farm. Beautiful creatures. Stingray City was equally amazing. Being off season, the crowds and cruise ships were less so we enjoyed smaller groups everywhere. Got lucky at the Botanical Gardens and Hal took us on the golf cart for a personal tour explaining the history and flora. Seeing the blue iguanas was a rare treat. Blow holes and Pedro St. James worth seeing. Take in the National Museum in Georgetown and while there do your shopping. Pure Art was our favorite shop - lots of handmade local art and Jewelry. Also dove a reef, wreck and the wall with Don Foster\'s - fantastic service. We never had a bad meal from Rum Point, Over the Edge, Tukka\'s, the Lighthouse etc. But mostly we loved cooking fresh seafood on our own grill. The real \"pearl\" of GCI is Cayman Dream. Such a delight to return to each day to relax. We rate this property 20 STARS*

Quiet and private.

This was our second trip to Grand Cayman. The beach house is very nice and is exactly as described. I would definitely come back.

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman.

The homes on the oceanfront in Rum Point offer great reef protected snorkeling. The beaches usually have plenty of white sand, but also can have spots of rocky “ironshore” with natural rock formations. The closer you get to Rum Point usually the sandier the beach, as well as the swimming. Either way, with the abundant marine life you will want to pool shoes or fins for foot protection. 

It is important to mention that the water near the reef in this area gets quite deep and can have currents.  We recommend staying shallow in the Rum Point area for this reason. 

The big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, water sports, a restaurant and bar, gift shop and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo, a beach restaurant, bar, and marina

Lastly, we have 2 large resorts in the east end (Morritt's and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches plus restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, a Subway sandwich shop, and a coffee/pastry shop. These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet ski rentals, wind surfing, kiteboarding, ocean front pools and bar service. 

General Grand Cayman Beach Notes 

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically “public” since the Queen owns up to the high water mark and the shoreline quality behind your property may vary seasonally. Be advised that the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website because of the weather. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. 

Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around mother nature.

Lower Occupancy Discounts

For 2 or fewer guests occupying the villa, the owner lowers the rate by $50/night. The discount will be reflected during the booking process automatically. Festive dates blacked-out.

Booking Rules

  • 5 nights minimum stay required.
  • 5 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving week. 
  • 7 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Christmas and New Year's week.
  • Christmas & New Year's are split into two rental periods. Please inquire directly with your travel dates prior to booking.
  • Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
  • Must be 25 years or older to book and must occupy the property during the entire stay.

Villa Cleaning & Sanitation

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.
